James A. Oleson attended the University of California and earned a degree in Criminal Justice.

After serving in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant and having careers in the automotive industry and working in law enforcement he has pursued his true passion of writing about military aviation.

A published author of several magazine articles, In Their Own Words: True Stories and Adventures of the American Fighter Ace is his first book on aviation.

Oleson lives in Iowa and has been married for 36 years to Karen. Sons Patrick and Scott are gifted artists.
